Highly addictive !! Three secret recipes to take Tamago Kake Gohan to the next level

Tamago Kake Gohan, or TKG for the aficionados,

It is a dish consisting of cooked rice topped with a raw egg.

This dish can be considered Japanese national food.

It is a simple yet fulfilling meal: rice provides glucose, and egg is packed with various nutrients.

But what about marrying TKG with some unusual ingredients? Below are three quick recipes for the ultimate TKG experience.

1. Mentaiko and butter TKG: do not overeat!

Ingredients

Mentaiko (cod roe) about 1/2 cup
Butter 3g
One egg
One bowl of rice
Soy sauce

Instructions

1. Add the mentaiko, butter and egg in the bowl of rice. Pour soy sauce, according to your preference.

How could this not be great? The combination is perfect. The mentaiko is already salty, so there is no need to add too much soy sauce. Butter makes the rice rich and flavorful, and the distinctive umami of mentaiko is so good. Did you know that there is plenty of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E in mentaiko? If you start eating this feel-good dish, you will probably want to have seconds (and thirds). Just be careful not to eat too much!

2. Avocado and wasabi TKG: edible beauty essence

TKG

Ingredients

Avocado 1/4
Wasabi
One egg
One bowl of rice
Soy sauce

Instructions

1. Slice the avocado and top it along the egg to the rice. Add soy sauce and wasabi.

We all know ladies are fond of avocado. Nicknamed "butter of the forest", avocado has a rather high fat content for a fruit, but because most of it is unsaturated fat, it has the fantastic effect of lowering cholesterol. It is also worth noting that avocado in itself doesn't contain any cholesterol. Even better, some people call avocado "edible beauty essence". The reason is because it contains lots of vitamin E, known to enhance the skin. It also has potassium, which prevents face swelling, and also folic acid, an indispensable nutrient during pregnancy. Isn't avocado a wonderful fruit? Let's add it to TKG! The creamy texture of avocado goes so well with the egg's umami. The wasabi brings a refined spicy accent to the whole thing. Enjoy a gorgeous TKG that also acts as skincare!

3. TKG carbonara: it tastes like pasta!

Ingredients

Bacon 1/2 slice
Milk 30 ml
One Egg
Parmesan cheese
One bowl of rice
Soy sauce

Instructions

1. Cut the bacon into 5mm squares. Cook the bacon in a frypan until crispy.

2. Add the egg to the rice. Pour the milk and sprinkle the parmesan cheese. Add the bacon, and finally pour some soy sauce. This may look like an odd combination.

But don't be fooled by appearances! Have one bite... Oh? Doesn't it taste like carbonara?! This is quite addictive. The favor of bacon and cheese are well balanced thanks to the milk. The soft taste of this TKG should be a success among children as well. Parmesan cheese is packed with calcium. Did you know that the body easily absorbs calcium from cheese? Also, we often hear that children these days tend to lose their temper due to insufficient calcium intake. This calcium-filled TKG should be a good way to keep them in place!
